Spam
I can’t believe how silly of a concept spam is. I mean, everyone hates it, nobody reads it, why is it still being passed around the internet? It is just a waste of money. E-mail spam is harsh, I’ve had spam numbering 1,000 of messages to one of my boxes (luckily one that I used for all internetting), so I know. I’ve never clicked any links in spam, never replied, nothing. Its just peices of dust in my studio apartment, they mean nothing to me and its really just a hassle. I’ve been getting comment spam for a while now, on psx-dude.net as well as here. I’ve turned off comments on psx-dude.net since I was sick of deleting the multitudes I got on that site. I even had to look at some ancient (and poorly designed) code that begs a rewrite to make my job a bit easier. Here is a different store, wordpress manages to filter all of it to be deleted on a future date, and its fine but still a hassle. I’m trying to think of some better ways to deal with it on psx-dude.net. the main one is implementing one of those image verification things, setting up some sort of user-based system (gets rid of my main plan for the front page of that site), or just implementing wordpress.
Any suggestions?
